“Nanofiber masks can be sterilized multiple times without filter performance deterioration, unlike N95 masks"

- phys.org 17 June 2020

mPact99 was conceived by a local businessman who had been exposed to the Virus Guard Nanoscreen fabric working on an unrelated project.

The fabric that we use for the masks is BMT Nanoscreen, a fabric that has the appearance you can see through it but there are “nanoscreen” fibers that are so small that they create a filter that blocks airborne particulates 99%, and keeps that filtration for weeks unlike N95 and blue surgical masks. The beauty of the fabric is it has amazing breathability since the fibers are microscopic and allow for tight filtering but better airflow. That is our “Secret Sauce”!

Filtration of 99.9% VFE, which is better than an N95!!!

mPactAir99 MASK MEETS THE CDC ASTM TESTING CRITERIA FOR PERSONAL FACEMASKS

The CDC has developed two testing standards for Personal Face Barriers. One test, F2101 is based on FDA medical grade  mask specifications which is required for all medical/surgical grade mask to be sold in the market prior to the pandemic.  The pandemic caused confusion in the market on Personal Face Barriers (PFB) requirements as multiple types of mask  materials are now used by the general population in light of the limited supply of medical grade surgical masks which were  never designed to be worn for long periods of time. The CDC developed new test parameters for this non-medical market  known as F3502. This testing protocol is new and is ever evolving as more manufacturers submit products for testing. The  CDC has placed this new standard under OSHA rather than the FDA. American Testing Standards and Materials (ASTM) is  the governing body of establishing protocols for both test that are carried out by several independent labs across the  country such as Nelson Labs and Intertek.

Why Choose Nanofiber?

The nanofiber filter has higher heat emission and carbon dioxide emission performance than the melt-blow filter, and exhibits excellent breathability. Also, after disinfecting and reusing, the nanofiber filter does not exhibit performance deterioration. In other words, nanofiber filters can be easily sterilized with ethanol at home and reused multiple times.

Nanofiber outperforms Meltblown in every measurement

Melt-blow filters work on the principle of electrostatic charge for the removal of particulate matter, as a result of ethanol spraying or dipping the electrostatic charge on the surface of the melt-blown filter was lost, so efficiency of melt-blow filter was significantly decreased. Ib the other hand, filtration mechanism of nanofiber filter is independent of static charge and fully dependant on pore diameter, pore distribution and morphology of nanofibers. As in the result of disinfection, morphology of nanofibers are not affected, thus it also maintains its optimum filtration.

Melt-blown filters work on the principle of electrostatic charge for the removal of particulate matter, as in the result of ethanol spraying or dipping the electrostatic charge on the surface of melt-blown filter was lost, so efficiency of melt- blown filter was significantly decreased.

Nanofiber is INDEPENDENT of static charge and fully DEPENDANT on pore diameter, pore distribution and morphology of nanofibers. As a result of ethanol spraying morphology of nanofibers was NOT affected , thus maintaining filtration of 95%

mPact Air 99 masks are lab tested!

When choosing an effective mask, that's why its important to choose a mask that rates highly in Viral Filtration Efficiency.

The VFE test is performed to determine the filtration efficiency of test articles by comparing  the viral control counts upstream of the test article to the counts downstream.
